Dear Ms Graham,
I would like to propose my candidacy for your position of Art teacher which I saw advertised yesterday on the Dayjob.com website. I am an experienced and dedicated Art teacher who is now looking for just such an exciting challenge.
As someone who genuinely wants to contribute to the lives of young people, I can be relied upon to promote learning and academic achievement at every opportunity.
I have the ability to influence the behaviour of children in a classroom setting and can teach those between the ages of five to sixteen. As a true professional I am open minded and willing to take on new ideas if I believe they are likely to help to drive class attainment. In essence what I am trying to say is that I can create an environment where pupils will become eager to learn and progress.
At the moment I work alongside similarly creative teachers in a dynamic and forward-thinking Arts Department. I have been with my present school for the last five years and have excellent references from the Head Teacher.
I would also like to mention that I am ambitious and have the capacity to excel quickly into a leadership role.
Right now I am looking for a role where I can further my teaching career and would like to join an ambitious school like yours where skills, enthusiasm and hard work will always be appreciated.
The enclosed resume provides a more detailed description of my education, interests, and work experience. I thank you for your time and expectantly look forward to hearing from you.

By describing these areas, a school will have a better idea of what they can expect from her as an art educator at their school should they hire her. The cover letter also gives Denise a chance to better describe her teaching style and educational philosophy – things that she can't go into detail about in her resume.
Creativity, multiple intelligences, and the ability to implement interdisciplinary-based lessons were important to incorporate in this art teacher cover letter. These are examples of education keywords to include in your document to ensure it gets to the human eye if it is scanned.
