Golden West Scholarship: In order to qualify for this scholarship you must be a senior with a 2.5 GPA and plan to attend college after graduation. You will need to write a 600-1000 word essay about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse, how it was dealt with, and, in your opinion, what was right or wrong about the way the incident or problem was handled. Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship: The MOST VALUABLE STUDENT Competition is open to all high school seniors who are US citizens. The awards vary between $1000 and $15,000 per year.
